Understanding Kung Fu for life, health and self defense
We only have one heart so we better make sure we take care of it. The heart has long been associated with our emotions and our sense of vitality. It is the source of all life for us, a river coursing through the internal lanscape of our being, nourishing every cell, supporting the entire system. A large muscular organ, it tracks our time on earth, beating steadily everyday of our life, whether we're awake or asleep.
When it stops beating, life ends
"What we eat has more power over disease and aging then any medicine your doctor can prescribe"
Sherry A. Rogers, MD
Diet and lifestyle have a dramatic effect on the health of the heart. Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. Given the importance of diet and lifestyle in the health of the heart, it's insane not to emphasize them.
There are many factors involved in heart disease:
Elevated cholesterol levels
Arteriosclerosis (hardening of th arteries)
Hypertension ( most common)
Chemicals and heavy metal intake
Broken hearts
Depression
Loneliness
Loneliness of spirit so many people experience today would be a underlying cause of heart disease.
We all need community to have a healthy heart.
Steps to have a happy, healthy heart:

Instead of eating your heart out, eat for your heart! It makes sense that it functions best when you give it the proper nutrients and fast food will eat your heart out.
Eliminate all fast food! Not even once in a while
Eliminate white flour, it has very little nutritional value and you are likely to become deficient in B vitamins.
Eliminate sugar, raises blood triglyceride levels
Eliminate bad fats, no vegetable fats which have been artificially hardened, such as maragarine, and hydrogenated oil, very harmful
Excess salt, excess salt contributes to hardening of the arteries
Eliminate fried foods, deep fried and many other snack foods lining the shelves of our supermarkets, they also are highly toxic to the liver
Processed meats, AVOID prepared lunch (deli) meats, hot dogs, sausage, and other forms of processed meat. Processed meat should be required to have a warning sign

I do not belive we need any greater evidence that the standard American diet, (also known as SAD) is not adequate to support the functions of a healthy body therefore our country is dying of a heart attack. With the SAD diet it seems we are intent on making the heart's job very difficult. Just stroll through a supermarket it is a heart attack in the making.
Now that I have given you knowledge it is time to start taking care of your heart, your health is your responsibility and the more you learn about it and your body, the better off you will be. America has been on the wrong road to long, we are neglecting our health and really shows.
I want to encourage you to begin the valuable and fascinating quest to be responsibility for your own well-being and your families.
