A school kid's worst nightmare---never ending homework.

Well, the figurative 2'x4' finally hit me on the head, and I had a long overdue epiphany: This school is demanding and Sifu Bronson demands a lot from us.

When I first attended the school I thought that 2x a week in the classroom under the ASP system ( "A" for accelerated was the operative word) would be sufficient to acquire the fundamental skills to achieve black belt in 5-7 years........not so, I  now know.

Unlike academic schools that test on a subject then move on to the next without requiring retention or application of formerly learned material, this program demands not just retention, but refinement.....and the more we are taught, the more effort I have to put into both the retention and refinement side.  Its like homework that never ends...it just keeps building.

Not only do I have to do homework on new material, I have to continue to do homework on the first material I learned......and this is demanding. It demands discipline, which I have been sorely lacking; it demands time; and it demands commitment.

Sifu Bronson demands that we demand a lot from ourselves....its a helluva challenge and few things in our lives these days require that level of challenge........I curse you and I thank you..............................I guess if it was easy it would be called snowboarding.

Yea,  I came to that same thought not to terribly long ago.  But as Mr. Bronson says,  The Reward is worth double the Payoff.   I keep hoping I don't keel over from Heart attack after one of his "Not So Bad" cardio days.
