Nearly a month ago I earned my 2nd degree black belt. After regaining my strength 3 days later, I enjoyed many activities I had put off in order to focus on my training. I played basketball, went hiking, wrestled, played racquetball, and did some climbing that first week. The 2nd week I jumped off a bunk bed and landed on someone's deodorant. It sliced and diced my foot right at the ball of my toe, about two inches long and one inch wide. I gave it four days to begin healing and then began to be active again. Unfortunately, all athletic activity seems to require planting with the ball of the foot and I reopened this wound for three weeks. Ugh! It was so hard to be non-active after training so hard for so long. Now three weeks later, I have healed and can plant and push without the wound opening up again. Time to get cardio back and begin training with the pack on. The mountains are calling!

Too true Sifu. Check first when you jump. :)

Injuries are never fun. I have had more than I would like to admit. Often because of a bad choice on my part but sneak attack injuries are the worst. I think they come out of no where to remind us that we are human. Glad to hear that you are back at it and I look forward to hearing of your adventures in the mountains with your broadsword.
