I had some friends ask me to officiate their wedding and the day has come and it is 100 degrees. I needed to wait to train my forms last night till after sunset so that the temps got back down into the 80s before doing a big push. This morning I was out again at 8:00am before the sun heats this place up. Coming from the lush Willamette valley to Sacramento was a bit jarring. All the highway signs were blinking about the drought. The local lake is said to be 50 feet lower than the full level. A very dry place to do forms, but a good place. Warm-up takes 5 minutes instead of 20.

I have had to adjust my training a bit since my last private class with Sifu Bronson. I have been pushing hard on my created forms and the final sword. What I haven't been doing is doing the upkeep on my higher level forms. In our private, Sifu when through the 15 forms before sword form giving me insight on how to make them stronger, sharper, and more fluid. Most of the first 13 forms needed some fine tuning. The final 2 both were rusty, much more rusty than I anticipated. Three or four times I needed Sifu to remind me what the next moves were. I had thought they were deeper and stronger in me.

I am now giving some significant attention to making Wallum 2nd form and Little Mantis fluid and more powerful. Because of this, I may have to adjust my goal of taking my 2nd degree test this summer and push it to December. Keep training hard everyone. This training matters.
