Changing my focus of personal training to forms training.

I finally have some time, space, and meager funds to give a go at the 2nd journey of forms. I picked up my 6th form this week and I am finding great joy and meaning in working the forms with greater precision, flow, and strength ... though I have a long way to go before they have formed me in the ways they intend. This past private lesson with Mr. Bronson, he alluded to the fact that if my hips were more flexible, I would get more out of the forms. After some reflection, I am going to transition my personal training of weights, cardio, and extracurriculars to more intense forms and flexibility training. My personal goal is to catch up to the mini-masters Laz & Max, and Sophie and Brent by Christmas in forms. Bold I know, but I need a challenging goal. Both Laz and Max have inspired me with their practice of the forms. I hope to join them in their pursuit of the second degree.

Today was a huge step towards committing to forms. I did one rep of my first four forms and then five reps of my 5th and 6th forms since they are new to me. I repeated this flow 4 more times and ended with 5 reps of each of my first four forms and 25 reps of my 5th and 6th forms. All told, in 40 minutes I did 70 forms. I normally do a plyrometric jump workout on this day of the week for 50 minutes. The 40 minutes of forms was more intense. Good trade.
