How is your emotional state of being? Life does not come without stress. My life has seen it's share and the situations that wish to cause stress just keep coming down the road and hitting me head on no matter what I do. If this is not the case for you then you are either the luckiest person in the world or you are in between stress situations. So, if stress is going to come our way whether we seek it or not then what do we do about it?

The answer lies in the emotional state that we are in when the stressing factor comes along. If you are a student of mine or someone that I influence in any way. Then you have heard me talk about the importance of constant training to keep the body fit. Well, what about the mind? What are you doing to keep the mind fit?

Here is a simple exercise. Work, and it is work, at paying very close attention to the moment that you are in. Be aware of the world around you but do not be distracted by it. Breath and take in the moment as though it were the most important moment of your life. This will allow you to experience your life with much clearer vision and the stress factors will be easier to deal with. Does this change what happens in life? NO. What it does is allow you to gain the internal control to deal with stressful situations better than you would have otherwise.

This practice is not easy and it does take time to get good at it. But the benefits are amazing. Remember that like everything else, if you do not practice you do not get good.
