This morning, while doing my regular morning routine to get to the Kung Fu school, I strained a muscle/tendon in my hand and forearm. I was already warmed up from the mornings activities. I had been up since about 4:30 AM hunting the raccoon that has been taking our chickens. My wife, Sue, shot it at about 6:30 AM ( I am so proud of her, good job honey ). After that we did our normal morning chores. I had also ran the dogs up the mountain for our early morning cardio. So, as you can see, I was pretty well warmed up.

While loading the truck to go I found myself in an awkward position with an arm load of stuff. I needed to open the truck door. Being in a hurry I decided not to set the load down. With the load in my hands I extended an arm, stuck out my ring finger and pulled hard. The door popped open and at the same time something popped in my hand and forearm. So now I have an injury.                                                                                The first thing to remember is that no matter how in shape and warmed up you are, injuries happen! And I was being a little impatient and rushing. Not a good combination.

The second thing to remember is that once injured your job is to facilitate faster healing. This means not using the injured area any more than is absolutely necessary. And, for me, it means treating the injury with the proper supportive herbs, tinctures, salves, ointments, lineaments or whatever is needed to help the body recover. Right now I am using our invigorating salve and our winter balm. I will also be putting on some Dit Da Jow as well. I will be applying these treatments at least four more times today. And I will continue applying the herbal remedies at least three to five times a day until I have healed all of the way.

In the mean time it's more kicks and one armed push ups for me!!!!!!!

Don't forget that if you have an injury we have salves, balms and lineaments to help you heal faster.
