Working  on a class schedule today and I am listening to beautiful flute music on Pandora. Now I don’t pay for Pandora, I just get their free version which means that I get occasional commercials. ( The price I pay for being cheap ) Usually I can tune out the commercials but this one caught me. Not because I was interested. No, far from interest. I was appalled. The commercial was for the ability to record up to 4 different programs on television at the same time. This so that you would not miss out on anything while watching your favorite show.

All of the current research shows that we are becoming more sedentary here in America every year. Health issues that come from lack of exercise are on the rise and have been for quite some time.

I feel like the boy in the old children’s story “The Boy Who Cried Wolf”. But what if the story was changed just slightly. Maybe the boy did see the wolf but it was hidden from everyone else’s view. Then, since no one would listen to the boy the whole wolf pack surrounds the village and wipes everyone out.

I have been talking about the adverse effects of television for years. And most people look at me like I am crazy. NO! I will tell you what crazy is. Crazy is the ability to record 4 different shows at the same time so that you do not miss anything while watching your favorite television show. That’s crazy!

And our society gets less healthy by the day. All the while wondering which medication will help with their depression as they turn on the television to watch one of their recorded shows.

Workout!!!!!!! It ain’t easy baby, but it is your only path out of this mess.
