Well said Vicki.  I think these people thought the herbalist were just going to roll over and take it. I think they thought they were free loving hippies that would just bend over and co-exist.  They are so wrong.  The women and men in this community understand freedom, like no other.  This will be  a fight...  There is already talk of starting a legal fund to fight this.

I wish I could attend your class, but I have a dress rehearsal in Portland that day at 5. I do have the book though, so I can make the fire cider. I look at it this way, that someone else who doesn't have the book can learn it and pass that knowledge on. Thanks for teaching it!

I just went and signed the petition. It's just awful! I am reminded of the patenting of foods, the patenting of genes, opening the door to a flood of genetically modified and patented foods. Corn, soy, alfalfa, sugar, zucchini, cotton come to mind...

Yes, we must fight it. As you say, the next patented thing could be something very close to our hearts, although I think food ought to be pretty close to our hearts.
