Saddle Mountain Hike January 2018

I have hiked Saddle Mountain many times through the last 15 years and it  always gives a strong memory.  Either by its spectacular views on top, beautiful misty mountains ,  ocean views, fog that moves like a flowing river, icicles hanging off of big rock formations, high winds that give high pitch sounds that almost push you over,  snow flakes moving towards you like a ghost in the sky, trails of water and/or ice and snow and beauty that penetrates ones soul.

Saddle Mountain is  a great hike that challenges you physically and if you have not done this hike, you should....

One of the amazing things about our Outdoor Encounter Hikes is that  there are many amazing memories being created.

Honestly, hiking, having community and eating organic wholesome foods is  just a small part of what Self Defense is.  When it comes to Self Defense I believe most people put this in a box, thinking it is  strictly physical movement to protect one and/or ones family from harm.

For those of you that think this  you are truly missing closing the circle to  protect oneself (and or family) from all things that cause harm.

If you look at what you are up against daily that causes harm the list is BIG!

1.    Processed packaged food

2.    Fast Food

3.    Sugar (organic or not)

4.    To much Screen time (video games, cell phones, tablets, etc.)

5.    Not enough Vitamin O, meaning Vitamin Outdoors.  Humans are literally losing their connection to nature.  Humans need to be outdoors and have actives outside daily in order to be healthy.

6.    Not enough sleep

7.    To many stimulants (coffee, monster drinks etc.)

8.    Not enough veggies and to much fruit

9.    Lack of Omega 3 and to much Omega 6

10,  Eating foods with artificial dyes and flavors

11.  Eating GMO Food

12.  Eating farmed fish

13.  Lack or no Meditation daily

14.  Eating to many foods that are non-organic

15.   Using toxic perfume, detergents with petroleum and synthetics in them, toxic dryers sheets, nail polish, beauty products that cause harm to your endocrine system,  toxic household cleaning products, hand sanitizer, toxic synthetic candles and all those toxic air fresheners!

Creating memories is vitally important for one's health and this is just one of the things that happens at our hikes.  If you look at the list above, the hike helped build health in many forms.

So, look at your life, your schedule and make time to come with us next time, or schedule one for yourself and love ones.  Yes, this includes getting out in the winter.

Sunday's winter hike challenged the group with a many different weather systems.  We hand beautiful mist, awesome views, quietness, HIGH WIND, snowy areas, no views on top, nice hard up hill hiking, numbing cold, to comfortable temperatures by a beautiful fire.

The Red Alders with their beautiful green moss were amazing.

We enjoyed beauty, good conversation, a warm fire with hot tea or mushroom cocoa, organic food and snacks.

It was a great hike!  Wonderful abundance of waterfalls trickling across, near and even on the trail- beautiful!  Misting billowed fog, wind blowing uphill at the top, a long line of waves on the distant beach.  Great group of like minded people seeking health and natures beauty.   What a blessing of a day.    Saddle Mtn.     Thank you
