It's now been one month since my wife and I left the US. Training, however, is no different than if we were at home. I work at "home" at a computer all day. My training comes in 10 minute intervals when I take a break from work every 1 1/2 - 2 hours. This usually works out to 3 ten minute workouts, or 30 minutes/day. I couple this with an hour walk around the city (currently Florence)everyday with Bobbi. Training is more sporadic on traveling days, but we will be here for the next two months, so the routine should suffer minimal interruptions.

My hat is off to all fellow students who blog post their training. It provides great incentive to not slack off.

I keep my training regime simple. Everyday during one 10 minute interval I do (30) sit-ups and (30)push-ups.

The other two ten minute intervals are used to train the different belt level skills. One day, I work on white belt skills, the next day yellow belt, the next day orange belt...etc...

The only difference between training at home and training abroad is that it is easier training abroad. Yes, easier.

It is easier because life abroad is simple. At home there are always interruptions that cause unexpected disruptions....life gets hectic and stressful. Here, we don't know anybody, nor do we speak much Italian. And we don't have cell phones. The result is a simple uncomplicated life...Work, training, and sightseeing; that's about it. This, in itself, is good training for when we return; as we are striving to live simpler lives.

Great to hear from you Ken. I am so glad that your training is going well over there. If possible please post a couple pics from where you guys are at. That would be great to see. Glad that you are living simply. Interesting that you had to leave to find that. Life here does seem a bit complicated sometimes ( often ). Take care and I hope we hear from you again soon.
