I am not here to play.

If being a warrior was about play then everyone would be warriors.  Can you have fun in the study of Kung Fu?  Yes, but if fun  is the main objective then I am afraid that you will never go far.

Training is grueling, time consuming, hard, often boring and sometimes painful.  Being very very physical, injuries can and do occur.  When injury occurs the student must look at the healing process as the most vital part of their training.  The student must support the injury to maximize the healing process.  The student must be patient on their warrior journey and train the best they can on movements that do not aggravate the injury.

A warrior trains to strengthen their body, mind and emotional state of being. When training stops because it is no longer fun!  The student of the warrior arts has missed the point of their training.  And the benefits hoped for will not be gained.

I have had many hundreds of children come into my training program only to have them quit when it is no longer fun.  Many, many parents have stated to me that as long as their child is "having fun"they will stick with the classes.  I can tell you that at some point in time your child will get bored.  When they get bored they will automatically look for other (more enjoyable) distractions.   If the warrior arts are to be truly beneficial to ones life.   Then they must be continued.   Even through the hard times.  I can tell you whether child or adult those that stick with their training will reap great benefits.
