This morning, after my tea, I decided to melt into all of existence. I cleared my mind and began the process of blending into everything. This practice is quite powerful and takes a great deal of dedicated effort to see the benefits. More on the specific practice another time.

Well into the process I found myself floating through the sky with all of the other raindrops. I was one of them. I was all of them.

In this practice a sudden flash of intuitive knowing was presented to me. All raindrops form and have a beginning. So do all lives. The raindrop goes through its' journey. It could be a soft drizzle or it could be a hard, wind driven, storm. The same is so with all of our lives.

But, as I contemplated the raindrops they all took on different attitudes. They were no longer just raindrops. They were beings with emotion and purpose.

In my meditative state I saw three distinct attitudes from all of the raindrops.

Attitude #1. Rain drop with a look of deep fear on its' face. Screaming all of the way down "Oh my God, I'm falling!!!! I'm going to die!!!

This is 10% of the population.

Attitude #2. Rain drop with bored look on its' face. Saying "Yes, I'm dropping. I'm a rain drop, that's what I do. Not a care in the world, but also not enjoying the ride.

This is 89% of the population.

Attitude #3. Rain drop with a smiling/eager look on its' face. Yelling at the top of its' lungs "What a ride! This is great! I'm flying."

This is 1% of the population.

Each rain drop had pretty much the same journey. Be born. Fall through space. End.

My meditation time was over and the meaning was clear. We all have, pretty much, the same journey. We are born. We travel through our lives. We end.

Which raindrop are you going to be?

#1. Scared to death and never really live?

#2. Act bored and do very little with your life. Pretending that it is all no big deal?

#3. Scream "What a ride" and enjoy the flight?

Attitude is everything.

Sifu, I look forward to your discussion on the practice you use for clearing your mind. I would also be interested in how you maintain that state. I dissolve, but before I know it, there I am again.
