I was excited to share one of my favorite spots for those who came.  The hike was awesome, misty, cool and we experienced snow flakes at the top.

Quite lakes with mist, rocks and tress.  Trails that are very rocky, up hill, and some of the trails had turned to streams.

It is a challenging hike because of how steep it is.  At the top of the Butte, we did not have a view, due to the heavy fog, but it was enjoyable to see the sun try to peak through and see  the snow flakes.

I loved seeing Jim make his tea at the top.  I loved the mediation at the lake, I loved sharing tea at the end of our hike, fire cider shots (non-alcoholic) and the smell of good food cooking.   We drank tea until it was dark.   One thing about all of our hikes, it is never about rushing home.  It is about slowing down, and fighting the urge to hurry.

The topics for the day were, how to motivate people, how to educate people to  let go of screen time to create healthier lives,  health issues, what is kung fu,  the book "Wild", subjects similar to "Last Child In The Woods, conversations on slowing down, how do you help your community, getting rid of petroleum based laundry soaps, don't use Garden Of Life brands and more.

Hi Casey,  Glad to here you are working on taking it slow.  Potato Butte via Red Lake Trail, gives me such peace.  The drive is short, which rocks.    For me I need no sound, no wifi waves, no car sound and the great thing about this place is that, you do not see very many  humans.   I can sit with a cup of tea or a book or just zone out staring at the beauty that surrounds me and not hear population noise.    As far as cleansing, I would be careful with that,  You make your liver work harder.  I would especially be careful if it is a fruit juice/carrot type fast.  That is a lot of fruit sugar to put in your body.   What your body needs is massive green veggies, mostly cooked and organic protein sources (not soy, no peanut butter )   Here are some notes on fasting/cleansing by Susun Weed

The words “clean” and “cleanse,” when applied to living things, are actually code for “damage” and “destroy.” The liver is not a toilet to be flushed, nor a rug to be beaten, it is a living organ. It is not a filter; it does not accumulate toxins or alcohol. It is a living part of a living body.

Every drop of blood in a body passes through its liver every hour. The liver is so important to living – it’s no mistake that the words are the same – that it is one of the most regenerative organs in the body. Each one of us gets a new liver every six weeks. Really! Cell by cell, the liver is completely rebuilt every forty days.
Nourishing the liver with herbal teas and tinctures of dandelion, chicory, and milk thistle allow the liver to recreate itself in perfect health in a very short time. In the ordinary situation, the liver can regrow itself from a small piece. In the extraordinary situation, a healthy liver can deal with alcohol, even 2 bottles of red wine (or a liter of vodka) daily. Not ideal, but do-able.

So-called liver-cleansing herbs often cause the liver to work harder. They frequently speed up digestion, which throws far more than the normal amount of metabolic-break-down by-products into the blood for the liver to deal with. Would you feel cleansed if you were asked to work twice as hard at the hardest part of your job? No. And neither does the liver.
