Am I ready and are you ready....

To be continued.  Just needed to start my idea and then work on it later.

It has to do with cardio and emotions.  If you don't work on how to deal with your emotions during a tragedy then your cardio means nothing.

First story:

A couple of weeks ago I was horseback riding.  I stopped my horse at the top of the hill to get off.  As I was bringing my leg over to get off, my left foot got caught in the stir-up ( I wore the wrong shoes).  At this point I fell on the ground head in front of the horses front legs with my body on an incline.  The horse jumped a little.  I was staring at my horse from the ground  with my left leg completely stuck in the stir-up.  Not good and I was on one of the horses that spooks easy and has some emotional trauma that we have been working through for months.  At first I tried to get  my foot out which was not easy because of the incline.  I could not get my foot out and no one was around.  I tried again and it didn't work, I started to feel myself panic and try to shake my foot out.  Not good to panic. I was having visions of the horse spooking at this point and dragging me through the woods.  I took control of my EMOTIONS.  Deep breath and finally got my foot out.  Whew!  My horse just waited ( we are obviously gaining trust with each other).

Had I panicked I feel the results would have been Sue dragging through the forest.

It left me with an extremely sore neck for days and back for weeks.  I did not know I had so many muscles in my neck.

This story did not have anything to do with cardio but it had to do with calming my emotions down that kept me safe.

When these things happen to me I always think about self defense.  Staying centered and calm in the middle of the storm is what keeps us thinking and hopefully safe.

Second story will come later but right now Sophia is needing attention.  Time for  tea and brownies with Sophia.

Just Keep Moving

Actually.. I don't know if it was a love story...   I have never seen the whole thing through.    :-o

And.. Come On!  Seriously!   Mankind has been using Clubs since the Dawn of time.  To Get Food,  Tenderize meat, Find a Mate, Clean under their nails. etc.   It might not be elegant but Hey!  It works!  Besides.. Percussion Cap weapons have their place..  #1  You can make your own Bullets and Powder quite easily!  But I would not say a "Complete" Solution.   I think a Complete solution would be more advanced.   I think that there is no problem which cannot be solved by the correct application of High explosives.   It can be used for everything from Potty Training your cat, to trying to sneak up on someone.

Robert: A Baseball Bat? A singularly inelegant solution. All the more reason for you to seek more training especially training emphasizing integration of blade, rifle and pistol. Next, you will be advocating percussion cap weapons as the complete solution.

p.s. I've always thought of Zombieland as a love story. Was I missing something?

The Double tap could also be done with a Baseball Bat! ;p

Robert:

From your post I can see that you are planning to attend the 05/22 seminar and the 05/29 Run & Gun. This will help you work on the key component your list is missing: ammunition transport and conservation. A double-tap on an empty chamber just doesn't have the same effect.

I don't know.  I am thinking following the Zombieland Rules.   Notice Rule #1 is Cardio.   I don't think I see "Have a Plan" in there because even the best plans never survive the first engagement.  I think "Be Prepared" might be the better tact.

  • Cardio
  • The Double Tap
  • Beware of Bathrooms
  • Wear Seat Belts
  • No Attachments
  • The “Skillet”
  • Travel Light
  • Get a Kick Ass Partner
  • With your Bare Hands
  • Don’t Swing Low
  • Use Your Foot
  • Bounty Paper Towels
  • Shake it Off
  • Always carry a change of underwear
  • Bowling Ball
  • Opportunity Knocks
  • Don’t be a hero (later crossed out to be a hero)
  • Limber Up
  • Break it Up
  • It’s a marathon, not a sprint, unless it’s a sprint, then sprint
  • Avoid Strip Clubs
  • When in doubt Know your way out
  • Zipplock
  • Use your thumbs
  • Shoot First
  • A little sun screen never hurt anybody
  • Incoming!
  • Double-Knot your Shoes
  • The Buddy System
  • Pack your stain stick
  • Check the back seat
  • Enjoy the little things
  • Swiss army Knife

Gee, Sue;

Isn't it a bit early in the week for probing questions? For me the answer is that it depends on the threat. Radiation? I can find ways of dealing with that. And the afterglow is pleasant. Earthquake? I believe I can adapt. These are defined threats and within my range of effecting solutions.

But what about a perfume spill? Sorry, all bets are off. I believe the correct approach for a well balanced human being would be to hoist the skull and crossbones and begin taking heads for the pikes around the yard.

Good cardio would increase your effectiveness in the taking of heads.
