Update on our friend Robert:  He is checked in tonight and they are getting him ready for his surgery...... Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.  His surgery is tomorrow.

Update from his wife Shanta:

Just checked into the hotel while Rob is getting more chest X-rays (hopefully no surprises), he was relocated back down to Cardic ICU. They are putting in the spinal drain tonight. We had up watch the educational video of what to expect (which is required but not beneficial since Robs heart surgery won't be typical) the visiting physician was excited to meet Rob but couldn't answer any of our questions since he's never witnessed a surgery of this kind. He was excited to inform us he gets to watch it though. I'm taking deep breaths and am going to take a longer walk as I head across the street and back into hospital.

took his first shower & shave ("sure feels good to be clean") bandages came off the incision areas (chest, back & groin- ouch!) We took another walk around the floor and the physical therapist had him practice getting out of bed and climbing stairs. He ate lunch and his voice is sounding stronger. I brought him sunglasses, so now he has the terminator look. Love just sitting there holding his hand and sharing the moment. The meds are making him dream... If I have triplets it's all HIS fault! This is the second time he has dreamed this. Ugh. This birthing experience is the last time but that doesn't mean I need to see how many pop out!! Lol. — at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center.

Robert, began physical therapy today, focusing on his left arm, since that's the side of the incision. He has extreme light sensitivity and has asked me to bring sunglasses tomorrow. Mild headache. And lots of pain since he has been moved to the recovery floor, meaning no IVs, only oral medication. Very little energy but he did go for one walk down the hallway that wore him out. While he can have visitors now, please be considerate and keep visits to under 20mins. He needs to heal and recover, not entertain. There's a possibility of him coming home this weekend if there aren't any more set backs. — at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center.

is feeling "peachy king", he says. Pain level has been up and down. They've removed one more chest tube, the catherder, and one more IV out of his neck, and the auto pain pump to the incision site (he still has the pain clicker to dispense when he feels in pain). They are keeping him in Cardiac ICU for one more night. His eyes hurt and are sensitive to light. If I move my hand, he reaches out looking for it, so I spend my time beside him, just being. One day closer to him coming home. — at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center.

update on Robert Frisbee from Shanta, I just left my husbands bedside... I got to see him move his feet and his hands, and I watched him be disconnected from the ventilator (ahead of schedule!) he is breathing well on his own and can say his name. His night nurse is awesome! He was in pain and thankfully the meds kicked in right away and put him back to sleep. The nurse mentioned that tomorrow morning they are going to try and get him out of bed. He is coming along incredibly and by Monday he could be upstairs in recovery! To sit there and understand that he knows I'm there, to just listen to him breathing on his own...I'm so in love with this man... He's been on an incredible journey and he will be coming home. Thank you for holding space and covering us in your

And this morning:

From his wife Shanta, It was a beautiful sight to walk into Robs room this morning and see him sitting up in a chair. Pain is minimal (so he says). The nurse said that as soon as he woke up this morning he asked where I was. He stayed awake until I got here and now he's fast asleep. He's going to have a rough day as they begin removing the chest tubes, lumbar drain and the IVs.

Thank you all, for all your loving healing prayers to Robert.

Update on our friend Robert Frisbee, from his wife Shanta And so it begins... I'm thankful that the pre-op medicines worked so quickly and helped relax him. (I'm also thankful the cafeteria was open so I could get some water and an apple...) Every time I close my eyes or just pause and think of him, I see him surrounded in light and the love radiates. He has an incredible journey ahead of him today, that will stretch into the next few days. Please continue to send the prayers.
