I believe we all need a little more Chicory...

This is a yummy tea blend. It has a slight bitter taste (kinda of like coffee).

You can make it with water or your favorite non dairy milk. If you choose to make it with water you can add your favorite organic non-dairy creamer .

A great tonic for the body but, especially for the liver.

Tea Time

Cuppa Chicory

2 oz roasted dandelion root

2 oz roasted chicory powder

1 oz cinnamon chips or broken up sticks

1/2 or 1 oz of licorice root (omit if you have HBP)

2 oz dried orange peel

1 oz carob powder

1 tablespoon nutmeg powder

In a bowl mix all the powders and herbs.

Put in a jar

Label

1 tablespoon per cup of water or non-dairy milk

I usually make 3 to 4 cups at a time

Put 4 cups of water or non dairy milk, in a pot and add 4 tablespoons of cuppa chicory mixture.

Bring to a boil

Turn down heat

Cover

Simmer super low for 15 min.

Strain into favorite cup

Sweeten if you like

Sit in your favorite spot with your favorite mug, relax and enjoy :)

Hi Ethan,

I never recommend Milk, unless it is raw organic and raw milk should not be heated up.

Dairy Milk from the store (even organic) is not healthy, due to the fact it is pasteurized.  Pasteurized milk is toxic to the body and causes inflammation.  When a body is inflamed you are susceptible to diseases (cancer, viruses, etc.).

The other reason is if someone was concerned about getting the latest bug going around, then you should not eat mucous forming foods.
