Lung Love Care - Recipes and Suggestions For a Healthy Respiratory System

I am not giving you any medical advise.  It is up to you to research the information that is given and make your own informed choices.

Because I want to get some information out to you quickly this is going to be a short blog version, on what to do to keep your respiratory system healthy.  If you have any questions, please send me an e-mail or call and leave a message.

With most of you wearing masks for many hours day after day, using toxic hand sanitizer a zillion times a day, using toxic chemicals to clean and now the SMOKE from the fires, you are at risk for having lung issues or catching something.

I also know most of you do not have bulk herbs, so I am going to recommend things that you can get at the store or online that do not require a lot of space or time to make.   In the close future you might want to consider creating a little herbal apothecary and create your own medicine chest filled with things that you and your family might need.  Especially if a crisis happens and you can't get to a doctor.  For example something as simple as sage, sage in your garden or in your kitchen is great for a sore throats and for hot flashes.  If you look far enough back,  all of our ancestors medicine chests (pouches) were plants that they collected and not a chest full of plastic bottles with synthetic drugs with side effects.

OK I digress

Back to the subject

Lets start with the nervous system.    This system in particular is very neglected meaning so many people are feeding their nervous systems with the wrong things and end up making their situations worse.  Examples would be caffeinated products, alcohol, sweets, sugar, energy drinks, too much news, to much screen time, video games, light pollution, staying up late and emotional stress.

Oh did I say emotional stress, oh man 2020 has been the year for this, but at the same time I keep seeing people loading their grocery store carts with sugar, salt and fat and don't get me started on the long lines I see at the fast food restaurants even in the early morning.  Yikes!!  It might be comfort foods folks but if you are full of fear and worry about catching a virus (no matter what year it is), then you really should consider changing your diet and toxic comfort foods to something else.

On that note, please keep in mind alcohol sales and cannabis sales are up.  Although these items, for some people, might relax them, overuse will tax their systems to.  These particular items, dry out the system.

Diet:

Avoid all mucous forming foods:  I personally would do this for the next 4 plus months.  I know the holidays are coming, but with everyone's systems being majorly taxed this year it is vitally important to avoid SUGAR.

AVOID:

ALL SUGAR, ALL WHITE SUGAR, CORN SYRUP, HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP

Pod Casts On The Toxicity Of Sugar:

https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/article/7174/55400/

All fruits high in sugar, , grapes, bananas, dried fruits - (Stick to the berry group, avocados, lime, lemon)

Cold foods - ice cream, smoothies, etc...

Dairy products,

Eggs

Refined and processed food

Artificial flavors and Colors

Hydrogenated oil

Peanuts

Soy, corn and canola

Make Sure You Get Plenty Of: Organic Whole Foods

A diet rich in green and bitter vegetables, non sweet citrus (lemons, limes, grapefruit) organic sources of protein, such as grass fed meats, pasture raised meats, lentils, beans, wild caught fish, nuts that have been soaked and dehydrated.

With the weather starting to change and cool,  it is time to think about soups and stews and bone broths.  It is time to think about eating warming foods.   Plan to eat steamed greens, roasted roots and drink hot herbal teas.

Bone Broth with Mushrooms and Veggie broth cooking.  I blended the veggie broth and added it to the bone broth.

Water - make sure you are getting enough water, drink spring water or filtered water

Rest

Sleep

Oxygen - Regular deep breathing exercises makes a happier nervous system

Recharge Your lungs - When the air clears, seek out places regularly, that are alive with fresh air, such as lakes, beaches, rivers, waterfalls and high mountains.

Exercise - When the smoke clears.  Fatigue and ill health are often caused by oxygen deficiency in the cells.  If you are not exercising you are not getting your lungs moving.  Your lungs need exercise, therefore it feeds your  body oxygen, oxygen heals.  Depleted oxygen kills, no air, no breath.  Lack of air ill health.  Masks keep you from getting adequate oxygen and they turn off your immune system. It is vital that you get good oxygen to be healthy.

Cold Water Bathing, hydrotherapy, Epsom salt baths, sitz baths and hot herbal steams.  All of these are vital to good health or help you heal.  And yes cold water bathing is healing.   It is one of the oldest and most effective forms of natural therapy.   It helps poor circulation, sluggish digestion, builds chi/energy and has many other health benefits.

To Do cold water bathing you can start in the autumn.  Start with a regular warm shower.  Then slowly or quickly begin to turn the water to cold.  Stand under it as long as possible, at least 20 seconds, being sure all parts of the body are exposed to it.  Do these several times and end your shower on cold.

If you are tired, stressed and/or inflamed try this and you will be surprised.  In the past I have had family members wake up not feeling well and I would immediately have them get into the shower and do this.  After they get out I would give them a warm cuppa tea, possible tincture in the tea and a good morning healthy meal and they were back to 100%.

If smoke is bothering you trying taking a nice warm Epsom salt bath with a few drops of eucalyptus essential oil.  A cuppa tea with one "Breath Easy" tea bag and two "Cup of Calm" tea bags and 30 drops of a relaxing nervine.   Don't fall asleep in the bath tub.    See Below for tea bag resources.

As far as the Epsom salt baths, sitz baths, hot herbal steams and/or hydrotherapy, there are lots of resources and instructions on the internet.  All are a wonderful protocol to add to your life.

I am assuming most of you do not have bulk herbs, so most of this program is written up using tea bags from tea companies.  Because tea bags are not very strong, you will notice I am suggesting that you use several tea bags to get the medicinal benefits of the herbs.

Please keep in mind the longer you steep your tea the more medicinal it becomes.   If you have young healthy kids, you don't need to make things strong and please use just one tea bag.

As always if you have any questions and need medical advice please contact your doctor of choice.

If you are alcohol sensitive or an alcoholic DO NOT USE TINCTURES OR ANY OTHER HERBAL PRODUCT THAT MIGHT HAVE ALCOHOL, there are alcohol free choices made with glycerin and you can also use capsules, herbal vinegar, oxymels and syrups.   There are many herbal companies out there that make them, so you will not have a problem finding alcohol free products.
