10 Minute Miles

Today was a great run. I ran the hill back and forth for three miles. For those of you who are unsure of the hill we run it is Lathum Road. It is where Coleman Winery is. Coleman Winery is at the top. I ran the 3 miles in exactly 30 minutes. Keep in mind this is a steep hill. I am so happy with my time! I have had an average of 11 minutes per mile. The difference was my 11 minute time included race walking/running. Today I did jog/run/sprint. I felt great and could have kept going. Sunday will… Continue

Motivation

Exercise is one of the hardest things for people to be consistent on. I have worked with people for years and this seems to be one of the biggest struggles. I believe that this on and off again training is taught at a young age and then as we become adults we start having issues with weight. Exercise becomes the most important thing to be healthier and people just won't do it. I believe this problem of not exercising consistently is going to cause many more problems in the near future. I can't… Continue

I love being up in the mountains

Today was a great day we spent two hours up on the mountain. Walked up the mountain early this morning with the horses and dog. We made tea up there and just enjoy our morning. It was a little cool this morning (42) so the wool clothes are always great to have. Just made a yummy dinner. It was my own sprouted bean sprouts, purple cabbage from my garden, our eggs, Growing Wilds green onions and peppers then some garlic, ginger, Jasmine brown rice, Braggs and all of it rolled into a rice wrap.… Continue

Mountain Time Tomorrow

With all the running on the country roads, I am really missing my mountain! We keep having these short walks up there with the horses and dog. It hasn't felt very satisfying being so quick and I am sure the animals are feeling cheated. I did my 10 mile run on Wed and it felt great. I even ran all of grapevine hill and to the finish without any race-walking. I ran my 10 miles doing 11:03 minutes per mile and that was with a 2 minute time loss because of drinking water and sucking on a honey/bee… Continue

Just Keep Moving, The Ten Mile Day

Well today was our 7 mile run day. I decided after the first 5 I was going to do 5 more. I was excited about my time for the 5 miles, it was just under 11:00 minutes. I thought for sure I was going to be way slower for the next 5 miles. I started slow and I had about two minutes lost getting water and our honey bee pollen mixture. There was a lot of pain off and on in my legs and side aches, but I just keep talking to myself with positive words. I even ran the whole grapevine hill, just kept… Continue

Bigger mileage tomorrow

Well, I have been taking care of myself for these last few days. I've had to walk the runs and walk them slow. Talk about torture! As I watch Dakota and Joseph run ahead of me on our runs, whey ahead. My mind says just run a little, I say no, 2 seconds later they are getting ahead, I say no, ok slow jog, I said NO ! To make yourself slow down is so hard! This has been a great lesson. I am not even sure I should run tomorrow but mind my keeps saying let's go, let's run. So tomorrow, we have 7… Continue

Rest

Well, today I woke up to do our two mile run and it ended up being a day that a woman needs to rest her body and not do heavy exercise. So the bummer part is this will include our 10 mile run for me tomorrow but, this works out great for the day of the 1/2 marathon!. I will walk, not race walk, 5 miles while Dakota and Joseph run the 10 miles. I will hopefully do my 10 miles on Wed. or Thursday. In the mean time it is light walking for me to keep my body moving. This morning I only walked a… Continue

Time To Heal

Today will become a rest day. Saturday was suppose to be the day but we are switching it. I did not sleep good last night. I kept waking up with energy jolts. We did get up about 3:30 am to watch the meteor shower. I was dizzy just moving my head so at that point I told myself this has to be the rest day It was a beautiful night out last night and we watched the shower for about 30 minutes plus. Went back to bad and slept in till 8:30am WOW!
My body still feels really sluggish and slow but…

The morning run and now up the mountain

Well this morning we ran our route. Felt pretty good. I had to motivate myself off and on. I did a lot of race walking /running in the first mile and half and ran most of it back. My time was 33 minutes. It seems it takes me a mile or more just to warm up. I have been so stiff and sore since my birthday run that I have not even be able to get my running stride yet! Every run so far I have not ran the whole thing. I have been race walking/ running with no stopping. I have been able to keep it at… Continue

It is too early for my body to move

Well it is time for the 5:30 in the morning rise and go run our gravel route. It is so early that when I was walking over to the house to get on the computer to type this, my body could barely walk. It was like walking to the bathroom in the middle of the night and you pretty much sleep walk there.
So, at this moment I am drinking a greens drink, we are waking Dakota up and then we will be on our way.
I think Dakota will be sleep running with me. We have started a new sport sleep…

Three Mile Gravel Road

On am on my way to go map out a three mile route on gravel for our training day tomorrow. The reason is the 1/2 marathon has about a 2 mile + on gravel, it is important we train on gravel. We will have to get up very early for this one! Meaning we have a tight schedule tomorrow so, the only time to fit it in our run is about 5:30 am. Whew! I have horse training at 9:00 am and then it is framing windows and playing in the mud for us. Big day. I think I have to get Brandon over to a job by 1:00.… Continue

Run

Up early this morning to run. I am making tea with oat milk, nettle, ginger, peppermint and green leaf for Joseph and I before the run. It seems fall is really here these last few weeks. It is really showing these last few days as far as cold. We keep having to were more clothes in the morning. It is great running weather though..

I am feeling a little stiff in my right leg still. Not as bad as the other day. (this stiffness comes from my birthday mountain run from last…

Forms

We went up the mountain with the horses and Rocky. I did each form twice and then some upper-body work. I am in need of some serious stretching time and I am going to do that after tea with Sophia.

Mountain Time Is Healing Time

This morning was acupunture morning, which is always a wonderul gift of new and healing energy.

My plan for this morning is go up the mountian with the horses and dog. Do 30 minutes of forms and add a arm workout. After I will stretch thinking healing words while breathing.

I am feeling pretty good about the 5 mile runs and I am getting impatient to do our 10 mile run. I am feeling nervous about the 1/2 marathon for many reasons. How do I stay alive and healthy in a environment…

Training, Goals, Bucket Lists and Fun

The training for the 1/2 marathon is working out really good. Today felt great running the route, I even felt tempted to keep going. I had to get home for my next training. For the last two weeks I have been learning to break one of our new horses. Her name is Komar. (moon) Last week I actually sat in her saddle while Matt (the teacher) and Joseph held her. I wasn't sure how I would feel climbing on top of a horse that never had anyone on top of her, I was a little nervous, so I made sure I…

1/2 Marathon Training

Dakota and I are doing the 1/2 Marathon in Carlton on September 5th. Fun! The workout plan will consist of running everyday. On days that we have a short run we will add forms and upper body training. Our goal is to run 10 miles next Sunday. I mapped out all our runs with big big hills. We drove the 1/2 marathon route to Carlton yesterday to see what the route was like. Great run it will be. Time to go run grapevine hill. It is a 5 mile run that I mapped out. At lease we have new… Continue
