Bones  need a good mix of essential minerals and fatty acids for healthy bone function. This includes plant-derived magnesium and silica as well as animal forms of saturated fat and the…

Cairo

On our way from Turkey to Africa we spent 3 days in Cairo.  It was a very memorable experience.  The pyramids are awe inspiring when one considers that each block weighs several tons, and there are a couple of million blocks in each pyramid. Couple that with millimeter accuracy in the angles of the sides and the edges from ground to the top, as well as the tight seams between each block, and it makes one realize that while humans have made advancements and discoveries in the last 4 thousand…

I'm so glad I'm sparring again! It's an awesome learning experience. And I cant wait to eventually learn to apply my technique at a better level, so I will have the ability to maintain better control, and fluid movement. Thus better sparring.

Organic Beef Heart and Growing Kakai Pumpkins for Hulless Seed

We have a friend that sells organic beef, his company is Simply Grown Beef and recently he gave us an organic beef heart to try. I will tell you, I was a little skeptical   I had never eaten it before and I grew up not eating the odd parts of a cow.  It sounded a little strange and it sat in the freezer for a while.  As most of you know I have MCS,   My doctor has been after me for a while to put organ meats in my diet.   Like I said this was strange for me.  I new at one point I needed to…

A Possible Self Defense Situation

Yesterday a strange man called me, and my friends over to ask us a question. The man kept asking us odd things, and we were very confused. Then he finally asked us if we had "any pot or pills on us" Then that's when a surge of  adrenaline rushed through my body. But I kept my cool. We told him we don't do that stuff, and he just looked at us. I examined his pockets with my eyes in a way that was not noticeable. And I noticed he had something in one. The theory that was in my mind was that It…

Transition Nutrition- Where to Start

Transition Nutrition

Where To Start

First you have to truly want to make changes ……

This is not a diet, it is about changing your life style habits through taking baby steps.  You are not going on a diet and then when you are done going off.

Once you are on the road to your new healthy life style, in my opinion, there is no stopping, there is only different routes and pathways.   .  If you are slowing down and yielding, then stay at that…

Transition Nutrition - Sneaky Cookery

Have a picky Family, then it is time to become the "Sneaky Cook"

First Rule:   Never make separate meals for the kids.  If you are making a nice meal for you and your partner, that same meal is what your kids should be eating.    I have seen and heard of way to many parents and  grandparents making separate meals for the children.  Just because you are eating a healthy meal with veggies, does not mean make them hot dogs and…

Members, also called shareholders, invest in a local farm by funding the whole season’s budget in advance. In return they receive a proportion of the harvest throughout the growing season, as well as the satisfaction from participating directly in the production of their food. CSA farming creates a very strong relationship between the consumer and…

Herbal First Aid Kit

Herbal First Aid Basics

It is always a great idea to take a First Aid/CPR class.  Contact your local fire department for a class or go to www.redcross.org and look for a class in your area.

A great first aid kit, would handle more than just cuts and scrapes. Ideally, I would not include any chemical preparations. For me the medicines would be all-natural, potent and effective. I would include the following:  Please keep in mind if…

Confessions Of A Procrastinating Ninja

Working hard towards great accomplishment.  Many people in my circle of influence have often congratulated me on my accomplishments in life. When ever I feel down I can always count on those folks to list the things I have done in my life and express amazement, always making me feel better.

But it is not enough anymore. I know what I am capable of were I not such a procrastinator. This blog, (which I wanted to put off until tomorrow because I am already running…
