Update On Robert Frisbee

Update on our friend Robert:  He is checked in tonight and they are getting him ready for his surgery...... Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.  His surgery is tomorrow.

Listening to my body ... taking it to another level

For the past couple of weeks I have been doing the following rhythm with forms:

Two reps of Basic Wushu

Two reps of 8 Chained Punch

Three reps of Wallum staff

Two reps of Hammer strike

Two reps of Yut Yee

Three reps of Wallum Big first form

Two reps of Standing Horse

Two reps of Mantis Grab

Three reps of 7 Kicks (I knew half of the form up to yesterday)

Two reps of Poi Choi

Two reps of Yut Sum

Get Away, Get Away, Get Away

We visited our first Game Park in Botswana.  We were very fortunate to have sighted a leopard, a black mamba, as well as, rhino's, giraffes, wildebeasts, warthogs, and Oryx. 

As I watched these magnificent animals, I was reminded of the fundamental rule of self-defense that applies to the entire animal kingdom: The best way to defend oneself and live to see another day is to avoid the confrontation; hence: Get away, get away, get away.

Icky air fresheners

I teach in a few students' homes, and there is one family in Beaverton... they have a lovely clean home, and their son is my student. He is a wonderful fellow, good student. But the problem is that they use these air freshener things that you plug into outlets, and they are absolutely VILE. Within minutes I feel like throwing up, and I get light headed. THey have these things in EVERY ROOM! THey also have flushable wipes in their bathrooms, and the list of ingredients is scary, all chemicals… Continue

Reflux

I wanted to thank Sue for her posts relating to reflux. I've taken all sweet things, even most honey, and grains out of my diet, and my reflux, which was terrible, even interfering with my kung fu classes (often thought I would suddenly throw up during class!), is GONE! I have experimented a bit, and found that even my homemade granola, which has oats and quinoa and honey, aggravates it a bit. Recovering from sickness

After being sick for a week I't takes a toll on your body. So to recover I have been doing a lot of stretching, and strength training to get my muscles moving again. For the last couple days I've been doing  a lot of push ups,core workouts,dumbbell routines, and pull ups. I actually managed to do 1 L-Up. Next I need to bring my cardio back up to speed.

I received my last pieces of the Wollum Big form this past week and have been working it into neurological strength before speeding it up and focusing on adding power. Today I did the following work-out:
