Can anyone answer my question?

Before dinner we were snacking on some organic store-bought celery (our own home grown is still small), before dinner, and we all agreed that it tasted very salty. I thought at first that Paul had salted it, but he hadn't.  Has anyone else ever experienced this? And why is it? Do they soak it in salt water before shipping?

Are You Prepared Yet? Why Not?

I would like to ask all of you a question, are you prepared if something ever happened? Do you have a 72 hour pack in your car? At least 3 days, which is bare minimum, of food, water and things you need at your home? If not, why not? Stop what you are doing right now. Follow these instructions, go get a container. I am sure you can find something in your house. Now put a can opener, food, snacks, bottle water, flashlight, first aid…

Nettles

I got some nettle leaves from Growing Wild Farm at Saturday market in Mac. I am enjoying them as tea, and I think they are easing up my coughing symptoms. Anyone know more about the properties of nettles? Also recipes?

Recipe for homemade toothpaste and hair wash

For toothpaste - mix 6 tsp baking soda with 1 tsp Stevie's extract. Add 4 tsp glycerin or 2 tbsp warmed up coconut oil(so it is liquid) and 1/4 tsp hydrogen peroxide (omit this last one for kids toothpaste). Mix and add 10-20 drops essential oils, such as peppermint or cinnamon. Mix into a paste, adjust for texture (more soda if too runny, more oil of too stiff) and flavor. Store in airtight OPAQUE container. Light degrades hydrogen peroxide.

For hair, try mixing baking soda with… Continue

Last Wednesday class

I just wanted to say I thought that class was amazing! It was sooo sooooo helpful to settle in, focus, be present in a slow workout. I am reminded of the importance of putting things under the microscope and giving ones body the time to learn, and I am reminding my own students to do slow motion work. Thank you, Mr. Bronson!

Crazy Punching Workout!

I decided after the Awards Ceremony I would do a workout that involved a lot of arm conditioning. To get my arms warmed up I did 2 mins of straight blast triangles;a killer warmup! After I was warmed up this is what I did. 100 pushups separately, 30 of them being knuckles. Jik Chung Chuie or chain punching free flow on my heavy bag. This involves constant chain punches combined with back fists, palm blows, and elbows. These will greatly increase the…

Earth Day Should Be Everyday

In My e-mail this morning I had this add sent to me:  Earth Day is April 22, so shop  Zappos.com to get your Eco-Friendly products now.  Find a Earth Day event near year.    What????!!?  This is what is says, to me.  OK, all you consumers we need to make money on earth day and  we know you are stupid enough to make sure you go BUY your eco-friendly products on earth day and while you are at it make sure you DRIVE to an Earth Day event to make sure you pollute more for that day.  Earth Day…

Sowings

I recently planted three goji berry bushes and a mulberry tree. The fruits of these are great for health. Wish us luck! My last new mulberry didn't come out of dormancy, and the one before that was stomped on by roofers.

On a different note, I wanted to say how valuable a tool this website is. It is filled, of course, with great links and comments, but it also inspires me to stay on track. Every time I visit the site, I think of a healthy meal to make or a time to schedule a workout.… Continue

Outside training

Great training day...beautiful sunny day; a little trail running in Grand Teton National park; 30 push-ups; walking on fallen timber for fun and balance training; straight horse stance on fallen timber; 20 crunches on log (not recommended); 1 minute straight blast; 1 minute straight punching; wheel kicks in the sagebrush; and finish with 20 minutes Chi Kung with the sun on my back and my face to the peaks.

being outside v. being in the outside

..Just a quick little observation I had today.  I am staying at a friend's house in Salt Lake City; beautiful house at the base of the mountains.  Like many expensive homes these days, it is a big house built on a small lot.  This means that the occupants are meant to spend most of their time indoors, not outdoors. There is, of course, a huge outdoor deck so that the occupants can enjoy being outside.  But, when one is on the deck are they truly being outside; are…

Training complete

I spent an hour and a half training(my parents kept the time). I did my 30 spinning wheel kicks on each leg along with some crooked horse stances. Then I did free flow for the rest of the time. I also did 10 to 20 pushups every now and then during my work out;I got up to 130 total.

Easter, The Environment And Making New Changes

My latest research has lead me to some serious thinking about what new changes I need to make in my life, my family's life and my animals.   What is happening to our food system at an incredible rate is more than sad. The corporate food corruption alone gives my heart to much anger. On days like these I can not help but think being a sheelple would make life seem so grand. Ignorance may be bliss, but, it gives nothing but a sad spirit inside that…
