Great beginning to February

It has been a great week and a half of training in February. I am feeling strong again following that sickness at the end of January. I have been able to practice my green belt material twice a day, and sometimes three times a day (my wife was in a conference in Canada while my daughter was at the beach with my parents ~ so much free time!).

It is about time to set up a private class to have Sifu Bronson fine tune my new material again.

Strength

Strength is a incrediable thing. Seeking and finding strength to do the things you need to do in your life is very important. I know walking around angry at the world because it smells of chemicals is the wrong thing to do. I know that isn't good for my health either. Hearing Stephanie's comment to me calmed that anger and made my heart smile. I was so full of anger I was forgetting something very important. There have been alot of changes made in other peoples lives because of my MCS and…

January in Review

I am still partly in denial that it is February already. Time flies. It was a great month of training. My first three weeks of January were strong and fulfilled my goals. My last week I had the in-laws in town and I got sick (the in-laws were sick when they came). I had to tailor my week of training to be super slow flow drills and take a break from the weights, cardio, and plyrometrics. The sickness did give me more time to stretch. It also help me make time to get organized. I was able to… Continue

Finding Strength

The last couple of months I have had these different reactions to chemical enviroments. Each reaction was getting a little bit worse. The last one was the worst. Having MCS has change my life in so many extreme ways. I have become a recluse to stay alive. I have lost most of my friendships due to them not calling me to go do anything and me not calling them because I was too afraid and too sick to go. This last year has been my best for getting better so at the same time I have felt more… Continue

push ups

Ive been meaning to write this blog for a little while now but ive been busy. As we all know our Sifu is doing the ultimate black belt test and in that he has to do 150 push ups a day. So ive decided on teaming up with him on doing a 150 push ups a day. right now i am at 750 push ups total. I encourage all of us to maybe take some part of this ultimate black belt test and do it consistently for as ever long as the test is. We as students need to be proud of our Sifu and what he is… Continue

Green belt material

I was able to get the final pieces of my green belt material from Mr. Bronson today in a private class. I think he had a lot of fun with showing me the Jit Sao trapping. :)

I needed four more of the trapping lines. I hope to begin training these daily as I have with the rest of my green material. You may say to yourself, "Daily? That Datt Myment is over the top" This may be true, but - yes - daily. In order for me to ingrain new material I have found that I must give it attention… Continue

Root Chai

7 cups boiling water

2 Tbs. dried ginger or fresh

1 tsp. dried dandelion root, burdock root, licorice root

1Tbs. cardamom

1/4 cup black tea or a little more or a little less ( I like Irish black tea, of course organic)

3 cups organic vanilla oat milk

Simmer spices in boiling water for 15 minutes. Then add the milk and warm back up to a simmer. Add the black tea and steep for not more than 3 minutes. Steeping longer can make it bitter. I usually dont' notice that… Continue

A slight adjustment with training

As we have embarked on this new way of training, I have decided to morph my weekly training outside of class just a bit. I no longer try to fit in hubub or joint locks outside of class for the moment. I am going to use the extra time to put towards my new green belt material. Here is my goal for a good week of training:

Monday: Chest and back, core, punches and empty hand flow drills. Kung-Fu class.

Tuesday: Plyrometrics, kicks.

Wednesday: Shoulders and arms.… Continue

A couple of days staying away from town/recap on goals

It seems the more I come into town and take my kids shopping for their needs my body has some terrible side effects from it. This time swollen tong and sore lymp nodes on my neck, not fun! Jospeh and I joked that it is a great way to save money, if I didn't take the kids shoping anymore! It felt great to just be out there breathing the fresh air. Of course I am still walking/running up the hill. I start my day with taking carnatine and a greens drink. Then it is walk run with Bella, Rocky, and… Continue

The ultimate workout

A couple of days ago Joseph and I started are usual workout up the hill with Bella and Rocky. It is a pretty steep hill. I usually start with Bella and Joseph has Rocky. On this day Bella was in a more relaxed mood and I found myself pulling her more. Usually she runs and I have to try to keep up. I always end up doing lots of cirlcles with her as we are going up. I do this to catch my breath and of course she is faster than I. Half way up Joseph took her because we needed her to run, she has… Continue

Working Out

Friday was demo team and after that I did a 30 minute private on my forms. On Sunday I danced with Raquel and then I went home to walk Bella and Rocky up the hill. Today the Demo Team work-out. I added an extra 5 minutes on the heavy bag. I love hitting the heavy bag. I also added some dips, dance and of course stretching. Just wanted to remind everyone to get out and move your body with the holidays. It is so easy to put off working out the next couple of weeks and then most of the time it is… Continue

Organic vs.Poison

OK I am on a little bit of a rant this evening. I am so very tired of so many people looking at me like I am from Mars when I talk about eating Organic. You would think that I was talking about growing another nose or something else equaly ridiculous.

So I would very much like to see my students get off the sofa. Turn off the tele. go to the library and start doing a little research.

True organic food is much more than being more healthy for you. It is also much more… Continue

Feeling Good

Well Saturday was our second Black Belt class. It was great and thank you Mr. Bronson. As most of you know I have not been in class because of my MCS. I have been working really hard at becoming healthy. It has not been easily at all. I have to push like you would not believe. I have had to push through anger, tears, and tiredness but I used those emotions to get where I am today. Some people use it some let it take over. It has been 5 years of this and before that I was very athletic so there… Continue

Tuesday: Plyrometrics. Kicks. Class (where we focused on kicks quite a bit!) Hubbud work before class.

Wednesday: Shoulders and arms. Core. Stick and knife flow drills. Class. Hubbud work before… Continue
