I feel that we should strive to see each day as new. To work at making resolutions daily about how we are going to better our lives, improve our relationships and care for our health (personal and planetary) Growth in life, is so much lip service without daily action. I would like to challenge each person that reads these words to let go of the past (other then the lessons you have learned). And to, daily move into a more powerful productive and joyous future. By taking positive action,…

A quick look at what is going on in the world today is very disheartening. I don't need to go into details. You know what I am talking about unless, of course, your head is in the sand. Preparing for possible problems before they come to pass is not paranoia. It is simply following the boy scout motto "be prepared" Maybe, just maybe, nothing bad will ever happen in our life time. In which case we all live happily ever after. Yea, I vote for that outcome to come to pass. But, speaking…

Hi everyone,
I've been on the road again visiting my kids in Texas. On the way I stopped in Chaco Canyon National Park, New Mexico, to see the ancient (600AD) ruins of the Pueblo, Hopi and Navajo. I did a good deal of climbing in and around the ruins without any strength or balance issues thanks to forms. I don't mean to brag, but I am aging gracefully as advertised.
I also stopped in Roswell, NM to see the alien museum. There seems to be a lot of evidence that we are not…

I am building a tiny home just for the experience and for fun. I have no building experience I but borrowed a book on framing from the library. So far I have discovered that the focus and positive mental attitude we learn in Kung Fu is applicable to building. I go slow and learn fast. Sometimes I struggle. Sometimes I even struggle with the unruly left side but I try to be patient with myself. Kung Fu is indeed the microcosm for the macrocosm that is life. Thank you Sifu.

I just had a private lesson with Mr Bronson in which we were refining small details in a form that I thought I knew pretty well. I made the comment that I felt like I didn't know the form at all. Mr Bronson patiently explained how we tend to fall in to a default mode of negativity and being down on ourselves. Discouragement, the result of frustration and negative attitude causes slower learning.
So my understanding is to breath, step away and treat yourself as kind as you would a…

We had a great day hiking at Tom Dick and Harry. Our morning started very cool and cloudy and Mirror Lake was steaming like a cup of coffee. But, as we began to gain elevation the hike became more of a workout and we shed sweatshirts along the way. By the time we reached the summit I was drenched with sweat.
The view of Hood was amazing but we could also clearly see Mt Adams, Rainier, St Helens to the north and Jefferson to the south. To clearly see five peaks was spectacular. We…

Get some relief from the heat and have some fun exercise with your Kungfu friends this Sunday. I just checked the weather outlook and it will be much cooler in the mountains than it has been in the valley.

Hello my Kung Fu brothers and sisters,
I'm in Forks WA in the Olympic National Park. Last night I camped on the Hoh river in the rain forest. No rain, just hot. I have been trying to establish a routine while I journey. Wake at 7:30ish then coffee. After coffee I meditate for about 30 minutes to quiet the mind;not easy even in nature. Then forms for about 45 minutes which is enough time to go wushu through right hand staff lightly for memory. I go through the beginning level forms 3…
